BECAUSE TEACHING IS LEARNING
I love to teach and to share my knowledge of drawing and painting technique with others and am convinced that artisanship and the creative process are values that need to be diffused and passed down. That is why I use my workshop for teaching, just as was the custom in times past . . .
The aptitudes required to follow the courses are: attention to detail, to the small things that characterize an individual drawing or painting, patience in waiting for the artistic result which I assure you will appear sooner than you expect, and, finally, the awareness that everything comes gradually and that process involves error.
THE TECHNIQUES TAUGHT
BECAUSE TEACHING IS SHARING
-Use of charcoal pencils
-A first approach to colour
-Preparing a canvas: theory and practice
-Transferring a charcoal drawing to canvas
-Creating a painting
-Drawing using life models at the Galleria dell’Accademia (drawing materials furnished by me)
CONCERNING THE COURSES
-All courses take place in the workshop.
-They can be for a single pupil or for a group
– Groups for children and young people can be arranged
THEN WHO CAN PAINT...
TEACHING IS OPENING A DOOR
The course is intended for those who have never experienced the techniques of free hand drawing and of oil colour and who desire a thorough knowledge of them.
The first part of the series of lessons is dedicated to assessing the expressive possibilities of each participant through sketches, in order to subjectively acquire a direction for the next phase. In the second part we approach the various colouring techniques, beginning with coloured charcoals and then experimenting with different mediums, combining them in mixed technique, using pencil, chalk, oil pastel etc. In the final phase we arrive at oil colour.
